In the novel Bodega Dreams, Chino has to hide from his wife the fact that he is working for Bodega, because he doesn't want her beliefs to interfere with what Chino thinks is best for his family as well as his community even though he works with a drug dealer. The reason why chino has a conscience is because even though he is doing something wrong like lying to his wife and doing jobs for a drug dealer chino is doing it for the best of his family as well as his community.
In the novel Bodega Dreams, the theme of conscience plays a major role. Some characters in this novel contain a conscience while others don't. Characters such as Chino and Blanca have a conscience and can be seen by their actions and thoughts. Chino thinks about what he is doing for Bodega and how that will affect his relationship with his wife Blanca and Blanca's conscience is shown when she doesn't take the ring Chino got from Vera. But there are others who don't have a conscience like Sapo. Sapo kills and does drugs and just watches out for himself so he doesn't care about the out come of things so there for he doesn't have a conscience.
I think in Bodega Dreams this person bodega has a conscience because he always thinks about the people and vera also,he has to know which is more important so he can stop being so worried about himself . Bodega and vera were not together for over 20 years and his conscience is between helping the spainish commuity and being together with vera. A conscience is when someone's right and wroung actions are used to make something right such as world peace or a good thing.
Well i believe chino is a perfect example of a person with a normal Conscience because chino's idea of good is to help out his soon to be family no matter what.Chino's decision to help bodega may have been bad but it was to help his wife and on the way, child.I also believe that the action he took with Vera's wedding ring was to make Blanca feel like she wasn't from the slums (which she was). These probably aren't good examples of a good conscience but everyone has there views of good things and bad (this to me is good).

Chino possesses a conscience in Bodega Dreams. He is struggling to choose whether he will work with Bodega or go back to Blanca and live a normal life. He wants to have a better future and leave his neighborhood. He also wants to live with Blanca and his child. Chino decided to work with Bodega. After his building was put in flames he wanted to help Bodega in anyway he could because if his wife was still there she could have been hurt. By helping Bodega he may be able to help him improve the neighborhood and stop the people who burned his building from doing any thing else. Chino is also finding it difficult to not tell his wife Blanca were he is going and what he is doing.
Some one in Bodega Dreams that has conscience is Willie bodega because he is trying to give back to his people in Spanish Harlem, by giving affordable homes and much more. He helped Chino by giving him a affordable for him and Blanca. Micheal jordan help people in the world because the money from his sneaker company goes to them.
In Bodega Dreams some characters possess a conscience while others don't. One character that has a conscience is Chino. Chino deals with problems involving Sapo and Bodega and this gives him guilty conscience because Blanca doesn't like Sapo and is being kept in the dark about what's happening. One specific event that has caused Chino to feel guilty is when he herd of Salazars death and Blanca suspected that Sapo had something to do with it. Chino feels wrong for keeping Blanca out in the dark but then decides its better for her and the baby not to know.
There are many characters from Bodega Dreams who posses conscious but the most obvious one is chino. Chino is struggling with the decision of having two lives. One being the husband of a very religious wife with a baby on the way, trying to finish college and the other with his street life and his involvement with Willie Bodega. Blanca does not want Chino to get involved in the activities that Sapos into, yet she does not know about the involvement with Willie Bodega which is worse and may possibly get chino into trouble. Chino can not say no to Blanca because it may put their relationship at risk but he can not deny Bodega because of the benefits he's reciving. Chino is aiming to please Blanca without hurting Bodega and possibly that is the reason of Chinos two different life styles. Chino allthough his intensions are good, he ends up making the wrong decisions and lying to Blanca after which he feels guilty for but then repeats the same mistake again.
..In the book Bodega Dreams I believe that Chino, Nazario and Bodega have a sense of conscience because they all think ahead in a situation to see whats right. For example Chino has confused thoughts of being/dealing with Bodega. In the begining Chinco gets what he wants but later on has to complete favors in return. His future with Blanca is in trouble because the lying is getting in between. Another person is Bodega which looks into the future of doing good but in bad ways.
A conscience is an inner thought that might help one decide whether something is right or wrong depending upon the person point of view. The book BODEGA DREAMS by Ernesto Quinonez illustrated a variety of characters which describe how one might use their conscience depending upon their needs. Chino, one of the main characters, struggle with his conscience whether he should join Bodega so to reach a faster and easier way to get a better life but meanwhile he also knows that by doing so he could get himself involved in a life that wouldn't be safe and secure, either for him , his lover Blanca and/or his future baby. Chino knows that if he reach out the help that Bodega is offering he would not have to deal with hard-working anymore and although that might sounds like an excellent offer for him he knows that his wefey Blanca wouldn't allow him to do so because sometimes the faster way is not usually the safestes one. Therefore Chino decided that even thought going to college seems like a really slow way to reach his dreams is better doing it so to maintain his family safe.

In the novel Bodega Dreams the character chino possesses a conscience of rather to join Bodega's kingdom or not or to stay put with his wife Blanca. Chino have to choose between money and pride or to lose his wife Blanca and their new born. As the novel progressed Chino decide to join Bodega's kingdom and to help him and Nazario. The decision chose by Chino might cause him to lose his love ones and shatter his dream of having a family.OR
In Bodega Dream their blanca whose possess a conscience because in the book when chino showed the ring to her she didn't want to take it she prefer to give back because it not her, even when they need like during the fire. She like a character that want to be all good and it hurt her to do something bad like take the ring that doesn't belong to her.
She doesn't want to hurt her own thought because everything she do she follows her religion and her own felling like the guilt might eat her up because of what she believe in.
Like blance is trying to balance hat she knows and the right from the wrong without ever hurting someone.
In Bodega Dreams, one of the characters that has a conscience will be Chino. He is undecided if he should take the fast life to be successful in life which is stop working in the supermarket and keep working for Bodega like Nazario told him to do, or to stay in college and stay working in the supermarket which will be the smarter way to be successful in life. It is very hard for Chino to decide whether to take the easy path or the hard one. Chino does not know what to do because he wants to please Blanca and the baby. His goal is to give Blanca a good life, but things are not affordable at the time. Even though Chino still has not decide which path to take i predict that in the end Chino will make the right decision because even though he can't afford much right now he won't quit his job and will graduate college without needing the help of Willie Bodega. I also believe that Chino will also do it for Blanca because he knows Blanca will never approve of him making the wrong decision which will be to work for Bodega.

The main character "chino" is a thinker because of the fact that his conscience is always telling him to do the right thing. As an example he always trys to keep "blanca" (his wife) happy, always trying to please her, so before he does anything he always says: "what would blanca think of me, will she get mad if i do this." Chino is struggling to keep his wife happy and trying to get his family a better life outside " El Barrio."
Can we trust anyone in this novel? I believe that Willie Bodega and Nazario can be trusted. Why? Well Bodega has helped Chino in his time of need and even though he is a drug dealer he is only bettering the community. Nazario is also trying to help the community and uses his powers as a lawyer to do it. Who can we trust? Bodega and Nazario can be trusted as said previously. Blanca is also someone you can trust because she is extremely religious and religious people who take the lord to heart do their best to do good for others. Who do you trust? I trust Bodega. Bodega is helping the neighborhood and only asks for respect and trust in return. It is true that Bodega is doing it all so Vera could come back to him but that isn't hurting anyone. Is Chino a leader or follower?Chino is definitely a follower. Ever since he was young he would follow Sapo. Once he told Sapo that he wanted to leave the neighborhood but when Sapo dissagreed Chino just said nevermind. He does not do what he wants to do. Is Bodega truly a leader? Yes he is. He helps the neighborhood and owns many apartments and buldings. He also has the respect of many people even though they have never seen his face or know who he is. In a sence he is kinda like a "god like" figure.
“Leadership consists not in degrees of technique but in traits of character; it requires moral rather than athletic or intellectual effort, and it imposes on both leader and follower alike the burdens of self-restraint.” Lewis H
Conscience ("the voice within") is one's sense of right and wrong with the urge to do right. Conscience plays an integral role among the main characters of Bodega Dreams. Without the presence of a conscience one commits acts or says things without remorse or consideration for others and their feelings. When one possesses a conscience, one has to grapple with difficult decisions because, ultimately, doing the right thing is the goal.
Identify a character from Bodega Dreams who possesses a conscience.
Describe what issue/conflict the character is grappling with. Why are they having such a difficult time making a decision? Who is it they are trying to please? Or, who is it they don't want to hurt?
Explain how they came to their decision and why the individual feels it is the right thing to do. Or, after they have made their decision, why do they feel so remorseful?

A character in Bodega Dreams that i trust is Chino because he is not bad nor good.Chino is trust able because he is the main character and he knows whats going on. Sapo or bodega i think lies about something in the book, like when Chino asks Sapo if he knew anything about the killing of this guy called Salazer and Sapo was trying to hide the truth to his best friend. Sapo cant be trusted sometime in the book because he hides things a lot such as covering Bodega's killings.
Bodega and Nazio are great leaders because they want to help the commity and its people. they both show this when bodega talks to Chino on how he can help to save the people and then after that Bodega plans to make money from drugs to buy apartments for the people that need it. Narzio shows great evidence because although the book he talks about reviving the peoples culture. Some of the followers are Chino and Sapo because they both wanted to help Bodega and his plans by sending drugs to drug dealers to earn the money for bodega. Sapo even was so into Bodegas plan that he killed some guy in respect to Bodega.
