Blog Assignment #3

Conscience ("the voice within") is one's sense of right and wrong with the urge to do right. Conscience plays an integral role among the main characters of Bodega Dreams. Without the presence of a conscience one commits acts or says things without remorse or consideration for others and their feelings.
When one possesses a conscience, one has to grapple with difficult decisions because, ultimately, doing the right thing is the goal.

  • Identify a character from Bodega Dreams who possesses a conscience.
  • Describe what issue/conflict the character is grappling with. Why are they having such a difficult time making a decision? Who is it they are trying to please? Or, who is it they don't want to hurt?
  • Explain how they came to their decision and why the individual feels it is the right thing to do. Or, after they have made their decision, why do they feel so remorseful?
